Taiwan: do South Africans need a visa?
South Africans need to apply for a visa before travel to Taiwan.
Set by the visa issued; no fixed figure is published for South Africans. Taiwan visitor visas are issued either with a 60-day stay that can be extended, or marked 'No Extension'. A 60-day visa without the 'No Extension' note can be extended up to two times by 60 days each at a National Immigration Agency service centre.
Visa required before travel. South Africa is not on Taiwan's visa-exempt list (Eswatini is the only African country on it), not on the eVisa eligibility list, and not among the nationalities that can use the online Travel Authorization Certificate. Landing visas are only for emergency or temporary passports of visa-exempt nationals. South Africans must apply for a visitor visa at a Taiwan mission.1234
