South Africans need to apply online for an e-visa before travel to Guinea.

- Purpose of visit
Tourist visa for visits. Separate e-visa types exist for transit (up to 3 days), cross-border (up to 3 days) and long stay (1 year).
- How to apply
Apply online at paf.gov.gn/visa. Fees: tourist USD 100 (up to 90 days); transit USD 50 (up to 3 days); long-term visa USD 500 (1 year). You get an acknowledgement email, then an Entry Visa Letter once approved; take it to the visa on arrival counter. Fees are not refunded if refused. Wikipedia gives processing as 3 to 4 business days; Guinea does not publish it.

- Vaccinations, including yellow fever on return to South Africa
Guinea's own yellow fever rule was not checked in this pass. SOUTH AFRICA: Guinea is on South Africa's yellow fever risk list. Everyone over 1 year old, South Africans included, returning to South Africa from Guinea, or after an airport transit of more than 12 hours there, must show a valid yellow fever certificate on arrival in South Africa. Get vaccinated at least 10 days before travel; the certificate is valid for life.
