Tonga: do South Africans need a visa?

South Africans need to apply for a visa before travel to Tonga. You can stay up to 30 days per visit, and you can apply to extend.

Visa needed before travel. South Africa is not on Tonga's list of countries that get a 30-day visitor visa on arrival, and Tonga Immigration says citizens of all other countries need a visa before arrival.123

Vaccinations, including yellow fever on return to South Africa

The US State Department says Tonga does not require yellow fever vaccination. South Africa's rule: you need a yellow fever certificate to enter South Africa only if you arrive from or transited a yellow-fever-risk country. Tonga is not a risk country, so a direct return needs none, but a routing through a risk country in Africa or South America would trigger it.59
